BetterMySQL helps you find and throttle abusive MySQL users, processes, and threads.
- Map MySQL users to Linux users. MySQL creates threads in the name of its generic user instead of specific Linux users. But throttling requires knowing who generated which thread. BetterLinux's MySQL has a small hook that tells you which Linux user (UID) created which thread(s), making it easy to throttle the right people.
- Prevent resource-intensive queries from unfairly taking system resources from all other users.
- Automatically reassign unused system resources to other users. (optional)
- One configuration file can hold settings for multiple systems.
